June is a special month for us here at Horsham Matters. Not only did we get to mark National Volunteers Week, but we also had the pleasure of bringing our volunteers together for our Volunteer Garden Party on the 2nd June, and what a lovely afternoon it was!
We were so pleased to welcome 47 volunteers to the event. Seeing so many familiar faces in one place was a real treat, and one of the highlights was watching volunteers from different parts of the organisation chat, share stories, and meet people they hadn’t had the chance to cross paths with before. It perfectly captured the kind of community spirit that makes Horsham Matters what it is.

Words that meant something
The afternoon included a buffet, great company, and a few words from our CEO Kelvin, Trustee James, and Volunteer Coordinator Vicky. All three took a moment to recognise the difference our volunteers make, because without their time, dedication and kindness, none of this would be possible.
After the speeches, the floor was theirs to mingle, eat, laugh, and feel celebrated. Speaking with volunteers after the event, it was really nice to hear how much they enjoyed the day and how good it felt to be recognised and spend time together.

The numbers that speak for themselves:
- 115 active volunteers
- 2,950 hours clocked up since December
- Estimated £37,494.50 in monetary value
These are not just statistics; that is the beating heart of everything we do. Every hour given is a family supported, a meal provided, and a community strengthened.
National Volunteers Week exists for a very good reason, the time and effort that volunteers give to their communities is truly invaluable, and it deserves to be shouted about. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of this charity, and we are grateful for every single one of them.
From all of us at Horsham Matters, thank you.
