Tips for Budget-Friendly Days Out and Around Horsham District this Summer

Keeping children entertained over the summer holidays can get expensive quickly – and with rising food bills budgets can be stretched to breaking point fast. We’ve rounded up budget friendly food and events for families for a stress-free, fun-filled summer.

From live performances and outdoor concerts to family-friendly activities, Horsham District is full of opportunities to get outside and make the most of the summer. Here’s our round-up of upcoming events and activities taking place over the coming months:

Live Music

If you’re looking for an enjoyable night out, Horsham has plenty of free live music for you to enjoy. Listen out for Friday Night Lates in the Horsham Carfax Bandstand from 6pm-8pm every Friday, with themed music and tribute acts for you to sing along to or check out the range of Big Bands performing in a series of free community concerts. 

Children’s Activities 

Running every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during May half term and the summer holidays, Horsham’s Children’s Fun Sessions provide 45 minutes of free entertainment for young children, with performers and fun to keep the little ones occupied. 

Looking for something to keep the whole family entertained? Love Parks Week is a celebration of Parks across the district, featuring free arts, crafts, performance and sports, bringing together our community of all ages.

Feeling Hungry? 

On top of fun-filled live music and events, there are also opportunities for affordable eating out.  A number of popular restaurants and cafés in and outside of Horsham District are offering kids eat free or kids eat for £1 deals throughout the school holidays, helping families enjoy a meal out for less. These offers are a great way to combine a day of summer activities with an affordable bite to eat.
